Wenwu Li, Professor and Graduate Supervisor at Harbin Engineering University. He is a recipient of the National Talent Program, High‑level Talent of Heilongjiang Province, and a Brain Pool Fellow of South Korea.
He has six years of overseas research experience. He previously worked as Research Professor (Faculty) at Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, and Visiting Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.
Targeting special‑purpose power supplies and energy storage for extreme environments, his research focuses on high‑entropy energy chemistry, low‑temperature electrochemistry, all‑solid‑state batteries, aqueous zinc batteries, alkali‑metal batteries, metal‑air batteries, seawater batteries and seawater electrolysis.
He adopts an integrated research workflow combining machine‑learning screening, first‑principles calculations, experimental synthesis, device fabrication and performance validation, to realize closed‑loop optimization from material design to engineering‑level performance.
He has presided over 4 national and international research projects, including the National Talent Program, General and Youth Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and grants from the National Research Foundation of Korea.
He has published nearly 100 peer‑reviewed papers. His representative works are published in journals including Energy & Environmental Science, Advanced Materials, Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS), Nature Communications and Angewandte Chemie.
Undergraduates (for research training / graduation projects), master students, PhD candidates, post‑doctoral researchers, lecturers and associate professors with backgrounds in materials science, chemistry, energy science and electrochemistry are welcome to join the group.
