Xiang Xuezhi is male, born in November 1979, holding the academic titles of Doctor of Engineering, Associate Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor. His professional memberships include Member of IEEE, Member of ACM, Senior Member of the China Computer Federation (CCF), Member of the CCF Technical Committee on Computer Vision (CCF TC-CV), and Member of the CCF Technical Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition (CCF TC-AIPR). He has served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Ottawa, Canada, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Mobile Postdoctoral Research Station of Instrument Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology. He has also jointly established the Joint Laboratory of Machine Vision and Intelligent Control with institutions such as the University of Ottawa (Canada), Tianjin Communication & Broadcasting Group Co., Ltd., and Harbin Tianyuan Petrochemical Engineering Design Co., Ltd. Currently, the laboratory has 1 foreign visiting professor (Abdulmotaleb El Saddik, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), IEEE Fellow, and Distinguished Professor of the University of Ottawa, Canada), 4 part-time professors, and over 20 postgraduate students in residence. The laboratory team was selected as an Innovation Team in the Artificial Intelligence Industry of Heilongjiang Province and included in the Three-Year Special Action Plan for the Artificial Intelligence Industry of Heilongjiang Province, and it is affiliated with the Key Laboratory of Advanced Ship Communication and Information Technology (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) and the Heilongjiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Multidisciplinary Collaborative Cognitive Artificial Intelligence Technology and Applications. The key research directions of the laboratory cover visual perception and scene understanding, motion vision, and industrial machine vision. Its service fields include two main aspects: firstly, intelligent video scene analysis, with applications in intelligent security (such as intelligent image recognition and tracking), intelligent transportation, scene classification, and abnormal event detection; secondly, visual industrial automated testing and measurement, with applications in target recognition and localization (under 2D or 3D conditions), product quality control (such as defect detection), and target pose measurement and recognition. In recent years, Xiang Xuezhi has published over 70 academic papers in top international SCI journals like *IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Learning (TPAMI)*, *IEEE Transactions on Image Processing (TIP)*, *IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (TCSVT)*, and *Pattern Recognition (PR)*, as well as in renowned international conferences including ICIP (International Conference on Image Processing) and ICASSP (International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing); he has also published 2 academic monographs. In terms of research projects, he has successively presided over or participated in 1 National Key R&D Program Project, 6 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), 3 projects of the Heilongjiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation, 1 project of the Heilongjiang Provincial Postdoctoral Fund, 6 projects of the Basic Research Fund of Central Universities, and 1 project of the Harbin Science and Technology Innovation Talent Fund, and has undertaken over 10 horizontal cooperative projects with scientific research institutions and enterprises as project leader or technical leader. For intellectual property, he has applied for more than 20 national invention patents and obtained 10 software copyrights. In terms of awards and honors, he has won 1 Heilongjiang Provincial Excellent Teaching Achievement Award, 1 First Prize of Excellent Teaching Achievement of Harbin Engineering University, and 1 Postgraduate Tutorial Ideological and Political Team Award of Harbin Engineering University, and has been honored with titles including Outstanding Young Lecturer of Harbin Engineering University, Third Prize of University Outstanding Lecturer, Huawei Cloud and Computing Pioneer Teacher, Excellent Instructor of the Provincial Division of China Postgraduate Electronic Design Contest, and University Advanced Individual in Technological Innovation. In postgraduate guidance, he has guided doctoral students to win the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award of the Heilongjiang Artificial Intelligence Society and the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award of Harbin Engineering University. Xiang Xuezhi recruits students for the following programs: doctoral programs in Information and Communication Engineering and Control Science and Technology; master’s programs (academic degree) in Information and Communication Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology, and Control Science and Technology; and master’s program (professional degree) in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
