Yu Zhiwen, Ph.D. in Engineering, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Harbin Engineering University, Humboldt Scholar from Germany, currently serves as a standing member of Party Committee and Vice President of Harbin Engineering University, Director of the National Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Cloud Computing and Its Application Technology, Director of the Key Laboratory of Human Machine Object Integration and Intelligent Computing of the Ministry of Education, Director of the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Perception and Computing of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Director of the Institute of Universal and Intelligent Computing. He obtained his Bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from the College of Computer Science, Northwestern Polytechnical University in July 2000, March 2003 and, December 2005, respectively. In 2009, he was selected for the New Century Excellent Talents Support Program by the Ministry of Education. In 2012, he was awarded the first batch of National Excellent Youth Science Fund. In 2015, he was selected for the Youth Science and Technology Innovation Leading Talents Program by the Ministry of Science and Technology. In 2017, he obtaining National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, 2018 and 2019, he was selected for the national leading talent programs.
Mainly focusing on research in the fields of Internet of Things, ubiquitous computing, human-machine systems, and perception of big data, he is in charge of national key research and development special projects, national natural science foundation key international cooperation projects, JKW innovation projects, and Longhu university cooperation projects. He serves as an editorial board member for international journals《IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems》、《IEEE Communications Magazine》、《ACM/Springer Personal and Ubiquitous Computing》、《International Journal of Social Network Mining》、《International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Engineering》and《Communications of the CCF》, guest editor of internationally renowned journals《ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology》、《ACM Multimedia Systems Journal》、《Multimedia Tools and Applications》(Springer Press)、《Pervasive and Mobile Computing》(Elsevier Press)、《Cybernetics and Systems》 (Taylor & Francis Press) . He has served as the President of the International Conference on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing (UIC 2014), the International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing (EUC 2013), the International Conference on Human centered Computing (HumanCom 2012), the International Conference on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing (UIC 2010), and the Chairman of the Program Committee of the 5th National Conference on Ubiquitous Computing (PCC 2009). He served as the Vice Chairman of the Program Committee for the top international conference in the field of ubiquitous computing, PerCom 2015, Chair of the UbiComp 2011 seminar, and Chair of the promotion for PerCom 2013. Served as a member of over 50 international conference procedural committees, including ACM Multimedia, IEEE PerCom, IJCAI, DEXA, GLOBECOM, Euro Par, and others. He served as Executive Director of the Chinese Computer Society, Director of the Universal Computing Special Committee of the Chinese Computer Society, Executive Member of the Electronic Information Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Executive Director of the Smart Education Research Branch of the Chinese Higher Education Association, Chairman of the ACM Xi'an Branch, Senior Member of IEEE, and Vice Chairman of the IoT Committee of the Chinese Communication Society. He served as a judge for the National Key Research and Development Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. I have given more than 10 invitation presentations at renowned universities both domestically and internationally, such as Kyoto University in Japan, Waseda University, and Mannheim University in Germany. We have established extensive and close cooperation with Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, University of Texas Arlington, National Institute of Telecommunications in France, Mannheim University in Germany, Kyoto University in Japan, Nagoya University, Baidu, Microsoft, Nokia, Huawei, and others.
He has published over 300 papers in top international academic journals and conferences, including over 100 papers in IEEE/ACM journals and CCFA conferences, over 160 papers indexed by SCI, 7 highly cited papers by ESI, and more than 15000 citations by Google Scholar. The publications and conferences that have published papers include ACM Computing Surveys, IEEE Pervasive Computing, IEEE TKDE, IEEE THMS, UbiComp, PerCom, IUI, etc. The paper has been cited more than 10000 times by scholars from nearly 30 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, France, Canada, and others.
