He obtained his BSc of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology, then worked as a research assistant at Centre for Marine Technology and Ocean Engineering, Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon Portugal. He was admitted for the PhD degree program of naval architecture in 2011, under the support of a FCT scholarship, and obtained the PhD degree in 2015 from the University of Lisbon.  He has been involved in various European projects and Portuguese national research projects including“Energy efficient safe ship operation”and“Safe Offloading from Floating LNG Platforms”. He is a member of the committee of Ship Mechanics of China, a topic co-orgainizer of OMAE, a member of advisory committee of International Conference on Maritime Technology and Engineering, deputy editor of Ocean Engineering, a member the editorial board of Journal of Marine Science and Application. He has published more than 80 research papers, and has been awarded by Chinese Society of naval architects and Marine Engineers for scientific research and technological contribution, and also the Medal of Distinction from Royal Institute of Naval Architectures.
